I have a great passion for media and entertainment. My love of film, television, and reading lead me to pursue a career in creative writing and storytelling, as well as a degree in Media Studies from The University of Western Ontario.
I followed this up by further developing my writing skills with a scriptwriting graduate certificate from Humber College. During this time, I also joined Cineplex as an employee and excelled at customer service. There I have accumulated a number of unique responsibilities due to my ability to work independently, and the care I put into every task.
For the last two years, I have taken part in an advertising project as a copywriter, working one-on-one with Brian Harrod, an experienced advertising art director. In this role, I have participated in client meetings and photoshoots while both writing and editing copy that has been published. My work has included print, outdoor board, and transit shelter ads, along with informational folders, back label copy, and decorative point-of-sale material.
Most recently, one of the ads I wrote copy for won an award at the 25th Elsie Awards for Best Ad in the LCBO’s Food and Drink Magazine.
Now we are working on a television ad campaign where I have contributed copy and participated in multiple focus group research sessions, pre-production and post-production meetings, and a tabletop product shoot.
To me, advertising is the perfect way to utilize my creative writing skills, channel my love of media, and put my ability to serve clients with a smile to good use.
